- Schwepped her off her feet.

My 6 year old daughter has lined up all of her dolls towards the outdoor grill.
- Looks like she’s preparing some kind of Barbie queue.
My wife says that I wasted money by ordering a 3 meter wide frame for our wedding photo.
- Well I think she should look at the bigger picture.
I was really embarrassed when my wife caught me playing with my son’s train set by myself. In a moment of panic, I threw a bed sheet over it.
- I think I managed to cover my tracks.
My friend went bald years ago, but still carries around an old comb with him.
- He just can’t part with it.
I just noticed the minus button is missing from my calculator.
- I guess it won’t make any difference.

My wife keeps telling me that I’m the cheapest person she has ever met in her life.

Kimberly Healy
I was recently reading the January, 2019 issue of “Science Scope,” a magazine written for middle school science teachers, published by the National Science Teachers Association.
In this issue, I read the “Member Spotlight” section where NSTA highlights a middle school science teacher, from across the United States. This month, Kimberly Healy is featured. She is a middle school General Science teacher in Illinois. Her advice for a new science teacher is:
“Rely on colleagues for help!”

Quizizz releases two very handy features. One is Read Aloud which can be toggled on in settings. This was available in their app and is now available on the web. This will even read out each possible answer. Also, once you complete a quiz you can retake the quiz in flashcard mode

5 Ways to Design Your Teacher-led Station
In my work as a blended learning coach, I observe a lot of teachers facilitating blended lessons. The Station Rotation Model is particularly popular because teachers do not need a device for every student to make it work. Instead, students rotate between offline and online stations.

Comedian Gary Gulman Is Giving Daily Advice to Standup Comics, and It’s Good
…starting on January 1, 2019, he would be tweeting out a piece of advice every single day to standup comedians and anyone else who was reading. That’s right. Free amazing advice from one of the most successful stand-ups in the business. And Gulman has stuck to his promise so far. Unsurprisingly, the advice is spot-on and way more relatable than you might think. Even if you’re not a comedian, this is good advice to heed.

It is originally designed for children and bedtime stories, but if you have ELL students, putting this in a Moodle would give them practice listening to oral language and give them essential references that are alluded to in other literature.

Web Spotlight:
What should funders fund?
Learning happens in the mind of the student, and is the product of student thought. Teachers try to influence student thought. School leaders try to influence what teachers do, with the ultimate aim of changing student thought. District policy is meant to influence principals, state policy to influence districts, and federal policy to influence states. Student thought ← Teacher ← Admin ← District ← State ← Feds It does not matter what else is going right…if student thought is not changed, learning does not happen.http://www.danielwillingham.com/daniel-willingham-science-and-education-blog |
