First of all we apologize for not producing a show last week. Sickness can be a bear. Since we’ve never promised to be the post office, you know, neither hail, nor snow, nor……, we felt it best not to attempt a show. We are planning on a new show this weekend though.
Secondly, this was too good to pass up:
A quote from Steve Jobs which I think speaks volumes to what our federal and state legislators just don’t get.
“This is worth repeating. It’s in Apple’s DNA that technology is not enough. It’s tech married with the liberal arts and the humanities. Nowhere is that more true than in the post-PC products. Our competitors are looking at this like it’s the next PC market. That is not the right approach to this. These are post-PC devices that need to be easier to use than a PC. More intuitive.”
It’s not just about technology (test scores), but the liberal arts and humanities (which aren’t measured on a multiple choice test). Are we preparing kids for the future that they will face? Or are we preparing kids for an idealized time that never really existed?
